Prachtige stof uit Leon Spanje - Stunning fabric from Leon Spain - (scroll down for English)

 

Ohhh ik hou ervan hoe dit is geworden!

Augustus 2023, Ik was met m’n lief in Spanje, het had een geweldig vakantie met de auto moeten worden maar helaas moesten we na een paar dagen weer terug naar huis vanwege familieomstandigheden thuis. Dus onze trip was veel te kort en we hebben meer gereden dan we konden ontdekken, omdat we het plan hadden om het meeste de eerste dagen te rijden. Zodoende zouden rustig aan kunnen doen vanaf dit punt. We zijn tot Leon in Spanje gekomen, vanaf dat punt moesten we terug naar huis. Het is verdrietig dat het zo liep, maar laten we maar verder gaan met alle positieve dingen tot dat moment.

Ik hou gewoon van Leon, Spanje. Dus gelukkig kon ik daar een dag spenderen en genieten van deze prachtige stad, even in het magische moment. Lopend door de stad, alles bewonderen, wijn met Pinchos, een beetje winkelen, het dakterras met bar van het hotel en de geweldige kamer die we hadden in ons ongelooflijke hotel. In het kort tot het uiterste genieten in de zon en gelukkig zijn.

En als je mij maar een klein beetje kent, dan weet je dat een klein stukje van mijn hart vol is met liefde voor knutselen. Toen ik door de stad liep, kwam ik langs een geweldige, fantastische winkel met een etalage vol met prachtige stoffen. Ik was verrast dat deze winkel zo groot was en over de kwaliteit van deze fantastische stoffen. Deze winkel heet “Telas Almacenes San Foilan” en ik moest gewoon naar binnen, ik keek rond en alles was geweldig. Ik besloot om één stukje te kopen voor het maken van een foto album met al de foto’s van deze reis. Natuurlijk wilde ik meer kopen, maar mijn hobbykamer is zo vol, ik heb nog zoveel om te gebruiken en zoveel ideeën. Dus een stukje voor nu is perfect. Hopelijk kom ik hier ooit nog terug.

Ik had ook contact opgenomen met Craftelier in Leon Spain en ze vertelde me dat ik een lokale winkel kon bezoeken met de naam “Bellas Artes” in het hart van het winkelgebied van Leon, waar ze een heleboel producten van Craftelier verkopen. Ik vond het geweldig, Ik kon een heleboel super cadeautjes uitzoeken voor mijn knutsel vriendinnen en ik kocht hier het meest mooie papier. Dat laat ik nog wel in een andere post zien, want dat gaat ook iets heel moois worden.

Maar terug naar de stof. Deze week was ik echt in een bui om hiermee aan de slag te gaan en mijn scrapbook omslag te maken. Dus ik pakte twee grote stukken grijsboard en sneed een stukje voor de rug. Ik gebruikte een rol met breed dubbelzijdige knutsel tape en ik bekleedde de stukken grijsboard met deze prachtige stof. Heel lang geleden heb ik een rol materiaal gekocht, het is geen papier en het is geen stof, maar het is iets er tussenin en erg stevig. Dit materiaal blijft niet op z’n plaats met tape, maar wel met natte lijm. Dus ik lijmde een stuk hiervan om het boek vorm te geven.

Nu is de kaft klaar. Ik moet nog wel de binnenkant van het boek maken, dat is de volgende stap. Maar voor nu heb ik een glimlach in mijn hart als ik de kaft van mijn nieuwe scrapbook zie. Er komt nog een vervolg…

Extra leuk is dat ik nog een stukje stof over heb, dus ik denk dat ik er nog wel een eenvoudige tas van kan maken.

Ohhh I love how it turned out!

August 2023, I was with my hubby in Spain, it had to be an amazing roadtrip holiday but sadly we had to go back home after just a couple  of days for family circumstances at home. So our trip was way too short and we drove more than that we could explore, for the plan was to drive the most in the first days. In that way our holiday should take the slow lane from this point on. We came until Leon in Spain, from that point we had to turn back and go home. It’s sad that it turned out this way, but let’s continue with all the positive things until that moment.

I just love Leon in Spain. So luckily I could spend a day over there and enjoy this beautiful city and go with the flow of this magical moment. Walking through the city, wondering around, having wine and Pinchos, doing a little bit of shopping,  the rooftop bar of the hotel and the amazing room we got in our fabulous hotel. In short, enjoying life to the fullest in the sun and feeling happy.

And if you know me just a little bit,  you know that in my heart is always a little piece full of the love for crafting. When I walked through this city I came by this amazing, wonderful shop with a shopwindow full of stunning fabrics. I was amazed by the size of this shop and the quality of the fabrics. This shop is called “Telas Almacenes San Froilan” I had to go in, I looked around and everything was amazing. I decided to buy one piece to make an photo album with all the photos of this trip. Ofcourse I wanted to buy more, but my craft room is so full, I have so much still to use and so many ideas. So one piece for now is perfect. Hopefully I will come back over here someday.

I also contacted Craftelier in Leon Spain and they told me I could visit the local shop called “Bellas Artes” in the shopping city of Leon where they sell a lot of the Craftelier products. I loved it, I could get a lot of amazing gifts for my craft friends and I bought the most beautiful papers. That I will show in another post, for that will also become a pretty project.

But back to the fabric. This week I was in the mood to work with it and to make a cover for my new big scrapbook. So I grabbed two big pieces of cardboard and cut a spine. I used a roll of double sided craft tape and covered the cardboard with the beautiful fabric. A long time ago I also bought a roll of material, it’s not paper and its not fabric, it’s in between and it is very steady. This material will not stay in place with tape, but it will with glue. So I glued a piece of this to get the book in shape.

Now the cover is ready. I still have to make the inner of the book, so that will be the next step. But for now my heart smiles when I see this scrapbook cover. To be continued...

Extra fun is that I still have a leftover of this fabric, so I think I still can make a simple bag out of it.
